Selecting the right person for a job is one of the most important decisions an organization or supervisor will make. With the cost of turnover between 20% and 200% of an employee’s annual salary (depending on skill level and position), hiring decisions also significantly impact an organization’s bottom line. In Hiring Practices for Equity & Excellence, participants will learn best practices to use throughout the hiring process. These include conducting job analyses, asking behavior-based interview questions, and rating candidates quantitatively with a scoring matrix. The class will also cover common hiring pitfalls that can increase an organization’s legal risk.
