Disability Inclusion: The ADA and Beyond | 5/8
Virtual Class
Number of Seats Available: 25Prioritizing accessibility is good for business. At a basic level, it reduces legal risk and builds a positive reputation for organizations. Taken further, it’s an opportunity to improve the employee experience at every stage. When accessibility is top of mind, it widens the talent pool, reduces barriers to employee engagement, and builds better, more inclusive products.
In this course, participants will learn about the history and social movements that helped shape disability rights, with a focus on the Americans with Disabilities Act. Through group discussions and activities, they will explore practical strategies for creating a more inclusive workplace for people with disabilities.
Note that Archbright's training content adheres to federal, state, and local laws prohibiting employment discrimination based on protected status, including EEOC Guidance “What You Should Know about DEI-Related Discrimination at Work” issued March 20, 2025. The Executive Orders issued by the Trump Administration in January 2025 do not make DEI training in the workplace illegal or change the law on employment discrimination. Employment decisions based on a protected characteristic, whether part of a DEI strategy effort or otherwise, have always been illegal.
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Summarize the history of disability rights in the United States, including the Americans with Disabilities Act
- Define key terminology such as disability, accessibility, ableism, and reasonable accommodations
- Identify inclusive tools and strategies that may complement required legal compliance for employers
