A solid foundation in Human Resource competencies can help organizations avoid costly mistakes in compliance, employee relations, and performance management. HR Fundamentals is designed for individuals new to Human Resources or whose primary expertise is in another field (such as operations or accounting). The class offers a comprehensive introduction to essential HR topics, including employee engagement, employee discipline, wage and hour laws, leave laws, records management, and workplace harassment prevention.

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the fundamental laws that apply to non-exempt employees
  • Discuss the structure and role of employee discipline systems within an organization
  • Conduct an HR records self-audit, identifying how to maintain, keep, and properly dispose of required records
  • Train managers and supervisors to respond appropriately to employee leaves and leave requests
  • Recognize and prevent workplace harassment and discrimination

Cancelation Policy: 

  • If you wish to cancel OR reschedule your registration and you provide at least 2 business days' notice, a $100 change fee will now apply. All payments in excess of $100 will be refunded. If the registration fee is less than $100, there will be no refund issued.
  • Cancelations requested with less than 2 business days' notice are non-refundable.
  • An organization is permitted to send a different individual in place of someone else and not incur the $100 fee, however some exceptions apply.
