Emotional Intelligence at Work

Course Description

Emotional Intelligence (EI) is the ability to identify and effectively manage emotions in ourselves and with others. This could be our emotions or another person’s strong emotions. Developing EI helps us make better choices, deal with change, build relationships, and manage stress. Studies show that 85% of star performers’ effectiveness is linked to a high EI.

This interactive class reviews common challenges to managing difficult emotions at work. Participants then explore a model to help them work through these emotions and make effective decisions. Along the way, they’ll review several self-management tools, including internal reframing and mental resilience.

Please Note: Emotional Intelligence at Work is offered as a stand-alone class and as part of our Management Academy course.

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the benefits of improving EI at work
  • Effectively respond to negative emotions using self-management tools
  • Engage in perspective-taking through empathetic listening and asking questions
  • Build positive relationships with peers for better teamwork and communication
